Boundaries Practice Group

To register for the group, completion of the Creating & Maintaining Personal Healthy Boundaries Workshop is required. The Boundaries Practice Group supports mental health carers in developing skills and confidence in setting, communicating, and upholding boundaries. It is a facilitated group that provides a space for reflecting on skills and situations, problem-solving and role-playing with peer support.

Our Gold Coast Carer Support Group offers a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Support groups are also a valuable means of informing carers of Arafmi services and resources that are available to assist their caring role.

Developing a Safety Plan (Online)

This session will explore the purpose of developing a safety plan with the person you support, when to do this and how.Developing a Safety Plan session is designed specifically for people who care for a friend or family member with mental health needs.

Carers are invited to join us for a delicious brunch and a Forest Bathing guided, meditation walk to celebrate the end of year.Carers are invited to join us for a delicious brunch and a Forest Bathing walk to celebrate the end of another busy year.Relax and recharge:Enjoy a 45-minute, guided, meditation walk through the Botanical Gardens, Mount Coot-tha—a Forest Bathing trial session with Heartwood Nature Bathing (optional).Connect with other carers and Arafmi staff over a complimentary brunch featuring scones, fruit, and mixed sandwiches at the Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Café.Unwind with a free massage during brunch to ease any aches and pains.If you choose to attend the Forest Bathing walk:Meet at 9:00 am at the Mount Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre (in the Botanic Gardens).
