Our Online Carer Support Groups offer a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Support groups are also a valuable means of informing carers of Arafmi services and resources that are available to assist their caring role.

Carer Consultation – Queensland Health’s New Plan for Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs (Online)

Carer Consultation: Do you have lived experience with, or cared for someone with a mental health illness? This is an opportunity for you to share your feedback and participate in a new plan for Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Future Planning. You can be involved in one of four ways: face-to-face workshop, online workshop, online survey (opening on 19 July) or a one-on-one consultation. Caring for a spouse with a mental health illness is a different experience to caring for an adult child or other family member or friend. This support group has been created in response to feedback our carers and will be an online space where carers can connect and support each other.

Dual Diagnosis Carer Support Group (Online)

Caring for a loved one with a dual diagnosis can bring with it some unique challenges. This support group has been created specifically to support the carers of those with a dual diagnosis and is a result of recent feedback from our carers.
