Arafmi Carer Online Carer Coaching Group – Sunshine Coast
Do you support someone with mental health needs? Are you interested in connecting with other carers and learning new skills? You are invited to join our Carer Coach Sue Hopkins for a series of 9 online workshops designed to assist carers. The workshops will: Assist you to build practical skills for navigating the caring role Support you to learn strategies to for your own wellbeing Connect you with other carers who “get it” Provide access local support options and resources Offer tools and insights to help lighten the load and strengthen your confidence Each week a different topic will be covered including: Understanding the Carer Journey What makes for good support Understanding Inclusion and Advocacy Planning Ahead for Yourself Post Crisis and more…. These supportive workshops will give you time to reflect on your caring role and build strategies to allow you to care more sustainably for the person you support and look after you. Your wellbeing can take second place in a caring role–join this workshop to explore self-care strategies and make a plan that works for you.2-hour, free workshop for mental health carers.Often your own wellbeing takes second place when caring for someone. But looking after yourself is just as important.In this free workshop, we’ll explore what self-care really means, why it matters and how to build simple habits that fit into your life. You’ll reflect on what works for you and what gets in the way of looking after yourself. We help you to create a self-care plan to support your wellbeing.You’ll walk away with:an understanding of what self-care looks like for youpractical ways to reduce stress and rechargea self-care plan you can start usinguseful resources and strategies to make self-care a regular habit.Join us to explore simple ways to prioritise your own wellbeing—because caring for yourself helps you keep caring for others.This session is designed specifically for family members, kin, young carers, friends and other individuals who support someone experiencing mental ill-health. We are a Queensland-based service.

Arafmi Online In Person Peer Support Group for Mental Health Carers – Sunshine Coast
Supporting someone with mental health needs? Connect online with others and make positive changes. Caring for someone with mental health challenges can be difficult and challenging at times but you don’t need to do this alone. You are invited to join our Carer Facilitator Sue for a series of 6 in online support groups designed specifically for mental health carers. Over 6 weeks you will: Connect with other carers who “get it” Reflect on your caring role and what you need Explore changes that could be made Build hope and a sense of community Be supported in your caring role and more… These groups will give you an opportunity to have some time out for you, reflect on your caring role and your needs and build connection and confidence. Living Well Sessions. Gentle Spaces for Carers to Pause, Connect & Recharge
Caring for someone can often mean putting your own needs aside for long periods of time. Living Well Sessions have been created to offer carers supporting someone experiencing mental health challenges a chance to step away from the everyday pressures of caring and reconnect with themselves, others, and the community around them. Across June, we’ll be offering a range of relaxed, small-group wellbeing days designed to feel welcoming, calming, and easy to engage with. These sessions focus on simple moments of connection, reflection, creativity, movement, and rest - without pressure or expectation. Whether you feel like getting outdoors, having a conversation, enjoying a peaceful activity, or simply taking a few hours for yourself, we’d love to welcome you along. To register your interest, simply submit an EOI (Expression of Interest) for one session day. Please note this is not a confirmed booking. Before attending, we’ll arrange a short wellbeing conversation to help find the session that best suits you and support a safe, welcoming experience for everyone. My Housing Options Information Session
This session is for unpaid mental health carers who want to enhance their skills and abilities to better support people with disability across their housing journey, using person-centred housing conversations. What you’ll learn In this session, you will develop: practical skills and tools to support meaningful, person-centred housing conversations. confidence using the My Housing Options Toolkit and Guide to support individual housing journeys. You will also learn skills to support people with disability to: talk about what matters to them most about housing identify their housing needs, preferences, and priorities set goals that reflect their life, supports, and aspirations take practical steps towards housing plans for now and the future. About the workshop This session is interactive and reflective, with a strong focus on practice. It supports family, carers and friends to walk alongside people with disability, providing consistent, respectful support as housing needs and goals change over time. This session is for unpaid mental health carers. People with disability are also welcome, but the content is targeted for family, carers and loved ones of people with disability. All participants for this workshop will need a copy of the My Housing Options Guide (doc 1.4 MB) and also the My Housing Options Workbook (doc 1.6 MB).
