Caring for a Spouse or Partner Support Group (Online)
Caring for a spouse or partner with a mental health illness is a different experience to caring for an adult child or other family member or friend. This support group has been created in response to feedback our carers and will be an online space where carers can connect and support each other.
Developing a Carer Statement (Online)
Developing a Carer Statement session will cover useful information to include in a carer statement and different formats that can used.
Caloundra Carer Support Group
Our Caloundra Carer Support Group offers a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Support groups are also a valuable means of informing carers of Arafmi services and resources that are available to assist their caring role.
Cairns Carer Support Group
2nd Tuesday of the month, 1:30pm – 3:30pm. Our Cairns Carer Support Groups offers a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Our Logan Carer Support Group provides a safe and supportive environment where participants can share their experiences, explore alternative coping strategies, support other group members, or simply listen and observe.
Creating and Maintaining Healthy Personal Boundaries
In this Creating and Maintaining Healthy Personal Boundaries workshop we will look at what boundaries are and how and when to practice steps to set personal boundaries.
Practical Tools for Carers
This Practical Tools for Carers includes understanding mental health supports, terminology, tips for communicating with clinicians, developing a stay well committee and knowing where to go for information and supports.
Borderline Personality Disorder Support Group (Online)
Caring for a loved one with a Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can bring with it some unique challenges. This support group has been created specifically to support the carers of those with a BPD and is a result of recent feedback from our carers.

Practical Tools for Carers workshop provides carers with practical resources and information to assist people at different points in their caring journey.
Redcliffe Carer Support Group
Third Friday of each month from 10am.
