Our Chermside Carer Support Group offers a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their experiences, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Support groups are also a valuable means of informing carers of Arafmi services and resources that are available to assist their caring role.
Caring for a spouse or partner with a mental health illness is a different experience to caring for an adult child or other family member or friend. This support group has been created in response to feedback our carers and will be an online space where carers can connect and support each other.

One of our awesome carer support team members will be available from 8am – 10am at a dedicated Arafmi table in the cafe where you can drop in, have a chat and catch up with us and other carers. A range of communication strategies will be explored to build carers confidence and skills and assist them to improve relationships now and in the future.
Caring for a loved one with a Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can bring with it some unique challenges. This support group has been created specifically to support the carers of those with a BPD and is a result of recent feedback from our carers.
