Our Inner Brisbane Carer Support Group offers a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Support groups are also a valuable means of informing carers of Arafmi services and resources that are available to assist their caring role.

Welcome to the October Arafmi Book Club! Each month we choose a book to read and then discuss via Zoom. It's a great way to connect with others and also read some books that you may or may not have considered before. The next book we will be reading is The Rosie Project by Australian author, Graeme Simsion. Written in 2013, the book is an international bestseller with over 3 million copies sold worldwide. Simsion has followed this up with two more instalments – The Rosie Effect and The Rosie Result. Don Tillman is getting married. He just doesn’t know who to yet. One of our awesome carer support team members will be available from 8am – 10am at a dedicated Arafmi table in the cafe where you can drop in, have a chat and catch up with us and other carers. Caring for a spouse or partner with a mental health illness is a different experience to caring for an adult child or other family member or friend. This support group has been created in response to feedback our carers and will be an online space where carers can connect and support each other.
