A young carer is anyone up to 25 years old who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend with a disability, a physical or mental illness, a substance dependency, or who is aged. Join our online young carer groups every Monday from 4pm – 5pm! Relax and connect with other young carers while you learn a new skill, have fun or simply chat!

Caring for a Spouse Carer Support Group (Online)

Caring for a spouse with a mental health illness is a different experience to caring for an adult child or other family member or friend. This support group has been created in response to feedback our carers and will be an online space where carers can connect and support each other. 

Carers of Youth (Online)

Arafmi Carer Support Group for families caring for youth experiencing mental health illness. This support group provides peer support to people who care for their loved ones experiencing mental illness.

Our Support Groups offer a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Support groups are also a valuable means of informing carers of Arafmi services and resources that are available to assist their caring role.

Caring for a loved one with a dual diagnosis can bring with it some unique challenges. This support group has been created specifically to support the carers of those with a dual diagnosis and is a result of recent feedback from our carers.
