Free kayaking event, morning tea and lunch provided You are invited to join us for kayaking along the Brisbane River with morning tea and lunch provided. This event is specifically for young carers (16 – 25 years) who care for or about somebody with a mental health illness. We will also be joined by Carers Queensland who will help us facilitate the activity. At Arafmi we understand that caring for loved ones with a mental health illness is something that not everybody understands. We have created this event to provide a safe and supportive space for young carers to engage with each other and find support. About the adventure At Riverlife, the Day Kayak Adventure will have you soaking up sunshine and city views seeing Brisbane from a new perspective. The fully-qualified and fantastic guides will make you comfortable and well-informed throughout your experience. Depending on the tide times, we are going to head towards the Story Bridge or South Bank on our kayaking journey. As a result of this we always kayak with the tide on our side for the home stretch. 4th Friday of the month 10am -12noon. Our Ipswich Carer Support Group offers a supportive environment where people have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, help explore alternative ways of coping, offer support to other group members, or to simply listen and observe. Support groups are also a valuable means of informing carers of Arafmi services and resources that are available to assist their caring role.
