This vocal workshop will offer ways of engaging with music and singing that are safe, collaborative, informative and fun, with a range of activities that shine a light on how music affects our bodies, our emotions and our relationships, with ourselves and others.
In her post graduate studies, Leah Cotterell explored her experience as a carer for family members living with mental ill-health through stories, music and songs. Her performance ‘The Pleasure of Sad Songs’ became the subject of a 2015 Conversations interview on ABC Radio National.
The session will finish with a light lunch, coffee and conversation. Be sure to bring a bottle of water. No previous experience singing needed, you don’t need to be in tune or be good at singing.
