Education and Training for Carers
Learn practical tools and build your confidence as a carer. Our education sessions are based on current research and what carers tell us they need. Sessions are at no cost for mental health carers in Queensland and available online and in local communities.
What You’ll Learn
Our sessions cover practical topics to support you in your caring role, including:
- Understanding mental health and recovery
- Communication and relationships
- Setting boundaries
- Looking after your own wellbeing
- Navigating services and supports
Types of Education Sessions
Short sessions (45 minutes to 1 hour) on a specific topic.
They focus on building understanding and may include guest speakers.
Longer sessions (2–2.5 hours) for up to 12 carers.
These include practical activities, reflection, and a workbook to support learning.
We also offer specialist training, including:
- Mental Health First Aid
- Emotional CPR (eCPR)
- Youth eCPR
- Motivational interviewing
